Inaugural Skate at the Powerhouse

Our friends Mitch and Gina recently invited us over to the ice skating rink they built outside the now-famous Powerhouse (I first wrote about it a few years ago here), and when we showed up there was a thin layer of snow on the virgin ice. Apparently we were the first people to take a skate there. It was a perfect kid-sized rink, and we had a lot of fun.

We had to special-order them, but we finally found my son a pair of skates. He scampers with them more than he skates, but he's pretty fearless on those double blades.
